What is a Volunteer
The facilitators at SOS volunteer their energy time and effort to help survivors cope and learn to deal with their life after loss.
A volunteer is one who gives, without compensation, of his time and talent in a volunteer service program. Volunteers are dedicated individuals from all economic, educational and social backgrounds who help make it possible for staff to provide the best care possible for the people of their community.
In general terms, volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others or a particular cause without payment for their time and services. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life.
Volunteers; They give their time. They give their talents. They give of themselves. They give something back to the community to make things a little better for someone else and to make life a better place to live.
